we have been in michigan for exactly one week today.
matt was here. then he left. so our amazing sitter/friend from home came up to help while dad is in africa.
karly is amazing. such. a. blessing.
we are starting to get into the swing of things, but sleeping up here has historically been hard for our kids. maybe they are just too used to their own beds? maybe it's all just too exciting?
and i'm not sure how other children do, and i'm not sure how older children do, but with hazel and anders... no sleep = no good = tears, screaming, utter meltdowns.
and this is no surprise. (well, it shouldn't be). it's like this every year, but still, i'm shocked when the cycle repeats itself.
i remembered though, that last year, matt wrote this blog post. now, i know i'm the biased wife. but really, it's genius.
i read it and remembered that sometimes nothing is new under the sun.
i just re-read matt's blog post from last year, and laughed all over again. oh, you want the 3" helicopter we can't find...bam...here's another one! so genius! we are packing up little fella and flying to florida saturday. here comes my first "venue change" as a parent. i'll report in ;) MISS Y'ALL!!
