cupcakes and gifts (more on Lena's birthday)

so after jumping, we let miss lena have a pretty routine day. she rested, played at home, watched baby Einstein, the norm. 

all the while i was cooking like i was a ukrainian celebrity chef. 

matt's parents came for our feast of a borshch & varenyky (recipes and more from my cooking adventures later) & they brought balloons for the birthday girl.

after dinner we had cupcakes!  getting ready to jump into birthday cupcakes, hazel and anders are really into it for her & lena was captivated by the candles

all that OT paying off big time as she can feed herself a birthday cupcake!

she usually doesn't like sweets but got a cinnamon cupcake from bliss & it went over quite well

opening gifts! oh the joys of crinkly tissue paper. she loved the way it felt in her hands, the sound, and of course, pressing it on her nose.

she got great lena gifts.  her first baby doll (that's a baby-ish baby doll that squeaks & makes a crinkle noise), a princess bracelet that lights up, and books.  oh how she loves her books.
