the vinyl went round while lena crawled around and found an old magazine that she crumpled and explored and ripped and tasted. i actually cooked french toast for breakfast and sliced bananas. hazel and anders were a repair company named "seven repair". the fine workers at "seven" came to me, with anders tools he got for christmas, on a play car, to repair my door and shelves...and i paid them 5 imaginary dollars before they "drove" back to their rooms.
and all through the day i breathed deep. normal routine is best for this crew. and the last month has entailed a whole lot of not-normal-routine.
lena's birthday, school christmas parties, gifts for teachers, packing, unpacking, a week in st louis for lena appointments then home for less than 24 hours then off to louisiana for christmas and cousins and the country.
and it was all fun.
and i pray that the wonder of emmanuel, God with us, began to take root in these fresh little hearts as we tried to plant seeds of gospel. words like hope, joy, waiting, rescuer, emmanuel, glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, twirled around the air of december while we oooohhhed and aaaahhhed over christmas lights and gave gifts and rolled out dough and filled our bellies with too many treats. matt and i hoped that the picture in their spirits would begin to come into view of the greatest Gift.
it was all really fun & it was a very special christmas.
but it seemed to race by at warp speed and now we are back to the speed limit.
and when one travels at a normal pace, one can actually look at their christmas gift.
which mine, it was a camera. one that is nicer than my ability and that i have no idea how to use yet. but i love capturing the things that fill my heart...and eventually i'll take the camera off auto and play. but not yet.
some louisiana christmas pics (my side of the fam)::
then back to arkansas to matt's parent's house for the day::
