sunday at lake wedington

it is a cold, cold morning in fayetteville today.  and that husband of mine, he knew it was coming.  so last sunday, in the sunshine and 70 degree weather, he insisted we get out there with the fam before it got too cold.  i'm so glad he did!  we went on a little family hike around lake wedington.  it was just a small hike, to see how the kiddos, and especially miss lena, would do.
they all did wonderful.
lena held my hand most of the time for balance, but was able to go off on her own a few times, too. anders just wanted to run the trails, only to sit or lay down on the side moments later.
hazel loved hearing matt read the information along the trail about types of trees as well as gathering all sorts of keepsakes: rocks, pinecones, leaves, etc.
and matt and i, i think we took it all in...the silence, the beauty of the lake, the sunshine, the 3 little personalities underfoot... and were just overwhelmed with gratitude.
