superwoman, her sidekick and a fireman

i just love halloween.  i mean, kids dressed up and candy.  it's altogether a great idea.  some folks can go a bit overboard with all the spooky stuff...that's not so much our gig.

we usually start with pumpkin carving a day or two before halloween.  and by we, i mean me.  but they do oblige me for a few minutes.

as messy and crazy as this boy is, he thought the pumpkin was disgusting.  anders is always such a sweet enigma.

she found it hilarious, but this was as close as she'd get to it.

and the finished jackolanterns...hazel insisted that one have a hair bow and one have a bow tie.  pretty good idea.

a fireman, a sidekick to superwoman (entirely superwoman's idea) and superwoman.

real life here. anders not happy about pictures, lena taking everything off of her at warp speed, hazel smiling through the picture session because it will get her candy quicker.

we were off to the fayetteville square to trick or treat local businesses until it poured raining and we detoured to the mall.  and ya know what, my attitude about that was awful.  it was the last place i wanted to go, but we made it a blast.  matt and i talked it up to the kids like it was gonna be the best and then they believed us and we were all smiles.

we have always trick-or-treated in our neighborhood.  we just love where we live and it's fun to connect with neighbors we don't see very often.  so after the mall extravaganza, we headed home and walked all around our sweet little neighborhood.

and then, there's just nothing like going through all the loot.
